This week we have introduced the children to Yoga. They were enthusiastic at trying out all of the poses and had lots of fun in the process. They learned breathing techniques, stretching and balancing. There were some fun but tricky positions from pretending to be a washing machine to being a snake. They even tried being an Eagle in a tree and roaring like a lion. This is a great form of exercise for them to do and we plan to continue to do this regularly as we have had a great response from the children.
We have added some new materials to the garden for the children to investigate. There is slate, moss and bark. They all have different textures and the children have been talking about how they feel. We have added various sized pots and tools for scooping, raking and digging with. This is in addition to our mud dig pit where the children can explore wet and dry mud using similar tools.
