Yoga!

We have added some new materials to the garden for the children to investigate. There is slate, moss and bark. They all have different textures and the children have been talking about how they feel. We have added various sized pots and tools for scooping, raking and digging with. This is in addition to our mud dig pit where the children can explore wet and dry mud using similar tools. This week we have introduced the children to Yoga. They were brilliant at trying out all the poses and there was lots of laughter throughout the session. They learned breathing techniques, stretching and balancing. There were some fun positions from pretending to be a washing machine to being a roaring lion . Some of the children talked about how tricky some of the poses were and we explained they would get better with practice. When we consulted them on this they all said they would like to do more yoga at nursery. This is a great form of exercise and the children seem to love it.
