This week we have introduced the children to mark making activities. These activities help them to develop the muscles in their fingers and hands. This will encourage their pencil grasp to mature before they progress onto writing in the future. The children got to grips with painting using pegs and cotton wool balls. We also provided tongs for children who found squeezing the peg too tricky.The children have been enjoying the deconstructed role play area. This involves providing various materials for the children to be creative with. It has been a great success and they are now taking ownership of what items go into it.
We use mind maps to consult the children on their ideas and interests. We encourage them to engage in conversations and contribute to their learning.
