Grasshoppers

Burns day.

The children have had a great time for Burns day today. They have had a go at playing some bagpipes that were brought in by one of the children. They found this quite tricky as they needed lots of puff. We have been making Scottish flags and some have had a go at making their own tartan. Snack today was haggis, neeps and tatties. We had a discussion on why we celebrate burns day and listened to some Robert Burns poems ‘To A Mouse’ and ‘To A Louse’ some of the children commented on the strange words they heard that they didn’t recognise. We had some Scottish music playing and the children danced together throughout the session. We watched some traditional Scottish dancing and listened to ‘O Flower Of Scotland’ and ‘Auld Lang Syne’ What a great time we have all had.
