This week we have introduced the children to mark making activities. These activities help them to develop the muscles in their fingers and hands. This will encourage their pencil grasp to mature before they progress onto writing in the future. The butterflies have been interested in the small world toys and wanted to create their own small world. They brainstormed their ideas and we recorded them on a mind map. The children then put their ideas into action and created a wonderful SeaWorld to play with.
We use mind maps to consult the children on their ideas and interests. We encourage them to engage in conversations and contribute to their learning.
