Broomhill Choir “Glee-ful” after competition!
Over the past two months, our dedicated Broomhill Choir has worked tirelessly to put together our two song entries for The Scottish Primary School Glee Challenge. The competition is held in heats, with the first round being completed by region; in Aberdeen these were held across three nights at The Beach Ballroom.
Mrs Smith, Mrs Friel and the Choir rehearsed religiously to perfect our two songs ahead of our slot on Wednesday 26th February. We had the chance to rehearse one of our numbers on the stage at the beginning of the event which helped settle the nerves a little.
As the last choir to perform, we had the chance to see all the other entries perform first. We proved ourselves to be FULL of the spirit of Glee as we clapped and danced and encouraged all our fellow choirs to do their best with genuine smiles on our faces.
Then came our turn… the excitement was intense!! There are no words to describe how proud Mrs Smith and Mrs Friel were of our performance. We sang our hearts out with smiles from ear to ear, our dance moves were flawless and our energy was second to none!! It all paid off when the judges decision came through and…… WE WON!!!! We got the highest score across the whole of the Aberdeen regionals! The tears were flowing as we joined the judges on stage to accept our prize and pose for the cameras 😊 Next Stop Regional Finals… watch this space!!!
