P4 R12 Term 1 Update

What an incredibly busy start to the school year! We have also had an important new addition to the class with student teacher Mr Rooney joining us for his first school placement on his journey to becoming a teacher.

We have focused this term in literacy on writing recounts, writing about events of stories that we have learned across the curriculum as well as creating newspaper reports based on our class novel ‘The Iron Man’. Our reading focus across this term and term 2 has been introducing various reading strategies to support our understanding, in addition to having a newsround presentation several times a week.

A huge thank you also to our visiting parents during maths week, who shared some of the ways they use maths in their jobs – the class loved to see some real-world applications to the skills they are learning!
