This week primary 2 have started an experiment to find out how to make plants grow. They started by finding out what makes plants grow and decorating a pot to put their plant in. Primary 2 then found out about different types of fertilisers. They had to chose between banana peel, coffee grounds and egg shells as the fertiliser they felt would best help their plant to grow.

Over the next few weeks primary 2 will make observations to find out which fertiliser works best.

Primary 2 also wrote science reports to support their work. They looked at what a hypothesis was and using and making headings and sub- headings.
