Did you know the Victorians invented ice cream?

Today we made ice cream by shaking milk, sugar and vanilla essence together in a bag surrounded by salt covered ice.

We had varying levels of success and learnt an important lesson that not all science experiments work. However we had lots of fun and several pupils managed to eat their ice cream out of a cone!
