voting for story of the month

We have been voting for our new story of the month this week. We are continuing to look at books written by Julia Donaldson. The children voted between “The Snail And The Whale” and “The highway Rat” which was the overall winner by a vast majority. The children voted and drew a picture on their leaves then we counted them up as a class. We have started drawing pictures about the story to make our own book. This is a nice next step leading on from our book making workshop last week. The book fair in school is well underway. It will be here until next Mon (19th) If you would like to browse with your child there are timeslots and purchasing information on the noticeboard in the cloakroom.

Miss Macdonald our student took the children to the dining room for some games this week as part of her HNC placement. The children played dodgeball, stick in the mud, pass the ball and duck duck goose. They had great fun and were all very tired by the end. The children enjoy their time with Miss Macdonald and look forward to her coming in each week.

We are very sad to be saying goodbye to Miss Kerr this week. She will be greatly missed by us all but we wish her all the best with her move back to Glasgow and look forward to hearing all about it. Miss Kerr wishes all the children and parents well and says thank you to everyone for making her time here so special.
