Book of the month!

This week the children have been involved in voting for the next book of the month. They have shown interest in having their say and the overall winner was A Squash and a Squeeze. We are continuing to look at the books written by Julia Donaldson. They have already started reciting familiar phrases in the story and drawing pictures of their favourite characters for our wall display. Book of the month is proving to be a big hit with the children!  Following on from looking at the fossils, rocks and minerals the children discovered that one of the fossils was spiral shaped. This led on to us looking at spirals that occur in other parts of nature. We discussed the spiral patterns in snails shells, spider webs, sea shells. The children even had a go at drawing their own spirals. We then displayed our findings to the learning wall in class.
