Broomhill School Senior Library Update
The first stage of the refurbishment of the senior school library is almost complete. A number of companies were invited to submit bids for the project before the deadline of Friday 3rd February 2017. All submitted designs will be presented to pupils week commencing 6th February as part of the evaluation process. Parents will also be invited to comment; these details will follow shortly.
The evaluation process will be based on the following criteria; 40% price/cost and 60% quality. The quality score will be broken down by the following; 40% design, 25% fixtures and fittings, 15% implementation plan and 20% consultation before the contract is awarded on 15th February 2017.
Primary 4 to 7 pupils had the chance to design their own libraries during engineering week. These designs were used during the consultation process to gather information about colours, layouts, design and decor.
The children also completed a survey detailing their wish list for the library and the types of fiction and non-fiction books we should stock. We had a large and varied response and lots of wonderful ideas!
