Educational Activities
Hello and welcome to my first EVER post!
I will use this blog to suggest on-line activities which will support the learning happening at school.
Here are some suggestions to begin with.
Have fun – and I hope these are helpful!
Literacy and Numeracy
http://www.topmarks.co.uk
This site has a wide range of excellent, free interactive games to promote literacy and numeracy skills for children ages 3 – 14 years. Select the Learning Games tab and then choose the curricular area – e.g. Maths, Times Tables, “Hit The Button”. This is fun and challenging as the game is timed and is good for gaining a firm grasp of table facts! So important!
Spelling
http://www.doorwayonline.org.uk
This site has lots of free educational activities to boost your child’s confidence with spelling.
Doorway Speller gives the children the opportunity to work through selected words using the “Look, Say, Cover, Write and Check” method we use in school. You can choose a spelling pattern to match homework or “common words” which often cause difficulty.
