Draft Aberdeen City Integrated Children’s Services Plan for 2017-2020

Dear All,

It is my pleasure to share with you the link to our Draft Aberdeen City Integrated Children’s Services Plan for 2017-2020 (henceforth referred to as ‘the Plan’).  This formal consultation will run until the 28th of February 2017, to allow sufficient time for amendments to be made in light of the views of consultees before its completion on April 1st 2017.  Before publication a supplementary report detailing the key themes and comments emerging from this consultation will be provided via our website and email distribution lists.

We are seeking your opinions to ensure that all those affected by the Plan’s development who have not yet had opportunity to contribute can do so, and offer their views on content; structure and to suggest additions or amendments to the text.

The consultation can be found via this online link:

If you wish to provide a more detailed summary of views please email any comments via a word document or pdf to James Simpson (see below for contact details)

The Plan constitutes Aberdeen’s statutory Children’s Services Plan, in line the Scottish Government’s Children and Young Peoples Act 2014, Statutory Guidance, Section 3

Throughout the past six months we have analysed local data, consulted with children young people and parents; as well as key stakeholders and partner providers to form this draft.  It has been structured as an executive summary with a view to being accessible to young people and parents as well as partner providers.  It is intended as a concise rationale for our 3 year priorities along with an overview of key information on the work we will focus on to deliver these priorities.  There numerous links to associated documentation relating to children’s services in Aberdeen throughout the Plan.

Once our new website goes live in March additional details and updates will provided via the website over the lifespan of the Plan from April 2017 to April 2020, to ensure as far as practical, that real time updates on progress towards its completion are provided to the public.

We look forward to hearing your views

Kind Regards

James Simpson, Development Officer – Performance Improvement
