School Uniform
Children are encouraged to wear their school uniform when attending school and when representing it elsewhere. Children wear school uniform and most are proud to do so. Parental support in this area is appreciated. Children should wear sensible shoes as an accidental fall in the playground or on the school stairs could have serious consequences.
Children must be dressed appropriately for school – fashion clothing in school colours is not always appropriate as fashion styles vary and some are clearly leisure/party wear.
School Uniform
Children are actively encouraged to wear their school uniform when attending school and when representing it elsewhere. Parental support in this area is appreciated. In the interest of safety children should wear sensible school shoes. Children must be dressed appropriately for school and all removable clothing should be labelled clearly.
- Grey or dark trousers, skirt, skort, shorts, pinafores or kilts, green gingham dresses
- Grey or white shirts/blouses or polo shirts
- Green or grey knitwear or sweatshirts
Jeans or jean style trousers, leggings, hoodies are not permitted to be worn in school as these are best kept for casual wear.
School logo printed polo shirts and green or grey sweatshirts, school ties, homework bags, gym bags and water bottles are available to order from the school office. Orders are processed every Wednesday and distributed direct to your child’s class.
Children should have a smock, old shirt or some form of protective clothing for art and craft work.
It is important for reasons of safety and hygiene that all pupils are properly dressed for gym. All children should come to school in their school uniform and change for physical activity lessons. It is recommended the black gym shorts/skorts, a plain white t-shirt and gym shoes be worn for gym and field. Non-lacing gym shoes are recommended for younger children. Gym shoes worn in the gym should NOT have been worn outside (this can cause damage to our gym floor). Beach or casual wear is not suitable for school activities. Football kits are not permitted for gym or field as it encourages unhealthy team rivalry and is far removed from school uniform.
Jewellery is dangerous when worn during physical activity and children will be asked to remove such items for the duration of the lesson. If they cannot do so pupils should not wear jewellery to school.
Please remember playground activity can be just as boisterous and careful consideration should be given to the appropriateness of anything worn to school which may be a potential hazard to the pupil or other pupils. In particular, valuable jewellery should not be brought to school in case of loss or damage.
A clothing grant may be available to families eligible for support. Please see the school office for further information on applying.
Please name all items of clothing which may get lost at school. This makes it easier to find the owner of the lost property.
Money or valuables should never be left in the cloakroom area. We advise that personal property/toys should not be brought to school however if any pupils choose to do so this is at their own risk. The school will not take responsibility for any lost, stolen or damaged items.

Lost Property
Lost property is kept in a unit situated in the Infant Hall for a reasonable period of time. Any unclaimed property will be disposed of at the end of each term. Please see a member of staff at the school office should you wish to check for lost items. All items marked with names will be returned to the appropriate pupil.
